Finding the Metro Ticket Counter

You will need to buy a ticket or pass to ride the Paris Metro. You can purchase tickets from the coin-operated ticket machines. However, not all ticket machines give change, so if you don’t have exact change, go to the ticket counter.

At the ticket counter a Metro employee should be able to assist you; some do speak English. You can pay for your ticket there with euros, or a U.S. or European credit card. Some ticket windows close by 10 p.m., even though the trains run later.

Note: Return immediately to the ticket counter for assistance if you have any problems with your ticket or pass.
